Norma's Garbage Dip Recipe

  • 4 to 5 med. tomatoes diced, drained well
  • 1 can sliced black olives or 1 can whole pitted, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 bunch green onions, tops and all, sliced thin or 1 med. onion, diced
  • 1 to 2 garlic, diced finely
  • 1 can green chilies, diced fine (start with half a can and work your way up - No guts no Glory) or 3 to 5 fresh jalapeno peppers
  • 1/3 c. vinegar, red or malt, Heinz
  • 1/3 c. salad oil, not olive
  • Approximately 2 tsp. garilic salt or garlic powder and regular salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 can mushrooms, if desired


  1. Mix all ingredients and serve with chips or crackers of your preference
