5 Awesome Asian Rice Cookers That Will Make Your Life Easier

If you’ve ever scalded the bottom of a pot of rice, wasting rice and creating messy cleanup for yourself, you know that the simple task of cooking rice (or cooking black rice) can sometimes be a real hassle.

I cooked rice on the stovetop for more than 30 years before I got sick of inconsistent results and cleaning burnt-on remnants. I finally wised up and bought a rice cooker, and my life has been so much easier. Rice comes out perfect every time, and clean up is a breeze.

If you’re like me and you make rice at least two times per week, then you should invest in an Asian rice cooker. They make life easier, rice tastier, and save you time. Here’s a list of five awesome Asian rice cookers that I’ve found:

Quick Comparison: Top Asian Rice Cookers 2019

**Below, you'll find our more detailed reviews, but you can also click the links above to see current prices or read customer reviews on Amazon.

Zojirushi NP-NVC10

Zojirushi is top on my list with this state-of-the-art rice cooker that makes multiple types of rice and porridge, has a setting to soak and steam rice, can toast rice with its “scorch” function, and uses induction heating for higher, more precise temperatures than conventional rice cookers.

All of Zojirushi’s newest rice cookers use what they call “fuzzy technology”, meaning that the cookers monitor the contents of the cooking pot and makes adjustments based on the type of rice and the temperature. Ladies and the gentlemen, the future of rice cookers has arrived.

The NP-NVC10 takes fuzzy technology to a whole other level; Artificial Intelligence-level. This cooker learns from your previous setting choices and tries to cook foods to your preferences. Basically, this rice cooker outsmarts humans (and conventional rice cookers) to make sure you get perfect food every time.

This rice cooker is made in Japan and comes in a metallic brown finish. The cooking pot has a non-stick coating, so clean up is easy. This Zojirushi model will make you wonder why all of your other small cooking appliances are so “basic”. And for around $$$ (on Amazon), it had better.

Tiger 10-Cup Micom

Tiger Corporation is based in Japan, where it ranks as as a top-name in rice cookers (along with Zojirushi). Tiger’s new 10-cup Micom cooker is made in Japan and features a sleek stainless steel and black finish. This rice cooker has technology similar to the Zojirushi “fuzzy logic”, so it is constantly monitoring your food to make sure it is cooking it at the right temperature.

It not only cooks your favorite types of rice, but it has a slow cooker function that allows you to cook soups and stews, porridge, and risottos. I get hungry just watching their video!

What really sets this rice cooker apart from others is that it has a synchronized cooking function (called “tacook”) that makes sure that all these features and functions work together to produce your complete meal at one time. If this doesn’t make your life easier, I don’t know what will!

Tips: I usually use slow cooker to make hot dogs, you can test. I think it is awesome.

The Tiger JAX-T18U-K sells for around $$ on Amazon.

Hamilton Beach

The folks over at TheSweethome.com did hours of research to find the best rice cooker, including talking to Asian experts in rice making. Their final recommendation was this Hamilton Beach 7-cup model (it holds up to 14 cups of cooked rice).

This stainless steel unit looks more like a slow cooker than a rice cooker, but is said to make delicious Japanese rice that is comparable to models that are much more expensive. You can also make beans and pasta using its steam dish.

In terms of features and functions, the Hamilton Beach rice cooker, which is only $28.99 on Amazon, has a delay-start mode that goes up to 15 hours, warming function, a heat/simmer mode, and delivers a finished product faster than many of the more expensive cookers from Tiger and Zojirushi.

This rice cooker makes clean up easy with its non-stick, dishwasher safe cooking pot and a removable lid liner.

If you’re not looking for “futuristic technology” rice cookers, like the Zojirushi and Tiger at the top of this list, then this rice cooker is truly a great choice. It was the one chosen after hours of research, it simply makes great rice, and it does all of this at a bargain-level price. If it weren’t for those (admittedly very neat) “fuzzy logic” features, then this rice cooker would be at the top of the list.

Zojirushi NS-ZCC10

Zojirushi makes our list again with this cooker that is made in Japan and is just the right size for a couple or small family. You can put 5 ½-cups of uncooked rice into this cooker, which will result in about 10 cups of cooked rice.

This cooker makes the following types of rice: sushi, brown, mixed, and porridge. It also has a steam function, so you can steam foods like fish and vegetables while cooking your rice (or just on their own).

Although there are a lot of buttons to play with on the front of this rice cooker, they lend themselves to the many features that I love, including: a delay timer (so your rice doesn’t start cooking too soon), a programmable beep to let you know when the rice is finished, and warming cycles that you can extend in case you’re not ready to eat yet.

This rice cooker comes with everything you need to make great rice, including a spatula, spatula holder, and two measuring cups. It also has a retractable cord, so the entire unit can sit neatly on your countertop. This model sells for around $$ on Amazon.

Lotus Foods

Here’s something you don’t see often: a rice company that makes and sells their own rice cooker!

Lotus Foods’ 12-cup rice cooker got my attention over at Ezvid.com, where they ranked it the easiest rice cooker to clean, even though the inner pot is made from stainless steel and isn’t treated to be non-stick.

The use of un-coated stainless steel makes this a standout cooker because the pot won’t rust or tarnish, and food odors won’t be absorbed and transferred to other dishes. At around $, you’re paying for a higher-quality cooking material, but you are getting a unit with fewer features and functions.

Don’t Knock It Until You Try It

There are plenty of rice cooker nay-sayers out there; people who think that rice cookers are a waste of money, and that cooking rice in a pot on the stovetop isn’t all that complicated. My experience is that I didn’t know what I was missing until I tried a rice cooker.

If you’ve never cooked rice in an Asian rice cooker before, I really encourage you to give it a try. You may be pleasantly surprised to find out that there is a much easier way to prepare a household staple.

Do you use a rice cooker to save you time and hassle? Did your rice cooker make it onto this list? Leave me a comment and share your rice cooking experiences.

Benefits Of Having An Over Range Microwave

best-over-range-microwave

Via https://www.wayfair.com

An over-the-range microwave has a number of benefits that once you experience, you may never get to live without. Perhaps my favorite thing about over-the-range microwaves is how they can help lessen the clutter in your kitchen.

If you are a cook that likes to use a lot of kitchen tools, you’d be surprised as to how much counter space over-the-range microwave ovens can save you. Think about it this way, some microwave ovens take up so much counter space that when you remove them, you can place both a coffee maker and a blender in its place.

Another thing that I like about over-the-range microwaves is that they’re harder to reach for children. If you’d like to lessen the occurrences of finding your child stuffing things into the microwave, an over-the-range microwave will certainly help you get the job done.

There’s also the fact that over-the-range microwaves don’t come with cords that can just add to the clutter and can sometimes be a cause for minor accidents when other things get tangled in them.

You can also save money by simply opting for this 2-in-1 appliance instead of buying a separate microwave oven and range hood. It makes your kitchen look more organized as well.

Things To Consider When Buying An Over Range Microwave

Before going out there to check out what the market has to offer, you might want to learn a few more buying tips. Here are a few things to consider so you can choose the right one for your needs:

  1. Size and space

To get the best over-the-range microwave for your home, you should first measure the available space in your kitchen. If you constantly prepare meals for your family or a large group of people, you ought to go for an over-the-range microwave that’s no smaller than 1.2 cubic feet. Over-the-range microwaves in that size can easily accommodate large casserole dishes. Consider the size of your cooking dishes at home. An over-the-range microwave that cannot fit any of the dishes you have certainly won’t do.

  1. Time-saving features

Another thing you should look out for in over-the-range microwaves are features that can take a lot of time off the whole cooking process. Such features include automatic defrost functions and pre-programmed settings for certain types of food. One modern feature that some over-the-range microwave ovens now come with is a handy sensor that figures out how long your food should be cooked depending on how much steam the food emits during heating. This is a convenient feature that can make cooking a lot easier, which is great if you aren’t really that good of a cook.

  1. Energy consumption

As for wattage, try and choose a microwave that can be powered with 1000-watts. Such microwaves can cook your food really quickly with minimal energy consumption. Compare energy consumption so you can determine which of these over-the-range microwave ovens won’t cost you a lot of money to run.

  1. Ease-of-use

Try to choose an over-the-range microwave that you can easily maneuver. If you’re not into LCD screens and more advanced pieces of technology, then you might as well go with a simple one that has a plain dial. Otherwise, you should go for advanced models that come with all the bells and whistles. Just make sure that you’ll get something that you can enjoy using.

  1. Color and Design

If you have stainless steel appliances at home, it makes sense to buy an over-the-range microwave oven that is also stainless steel, so you can have a cohesive look in your kitchen. If you choose one with a different color, it will stick out like a sore thumb amidst all your other kitchen appliances.

Microwaves Made In The USA: American-Made Appliances We Love In 2019

Microwaves Made In The USA - American-Made Appliances We Love In 2019

Microwaves have come a long way since they first hit the consumer market in the 1960s. Today, you can purchase a reliable microwave at any department or home goods store, some for less than $100.

The low price of these standard microwaves is partly because they are mass produced overseas, even though surveys show that 8 out of 10 American consumers want to buy items made in the USA, whenever possible.

While many appliance manufacturers have taken to making their microwaves in China and other Asian countries, you can still find microwaves made in the USA – and some snazzy ones, at that.

If you have a little more room in your budget, and you like the idea of a microwave that really stands out and has cool features, look no further than these 5 super cool microwaves.

Top 5 Microwave Brands in the USA

1. Big Chill’s Retro Microwave

Big Chill Retro Microwave 24 in. wide - Beach BlueModern microwave ovens

Big Chill is a company out of Boulder, Colorado, and they make those colorful retro appliances that you see on television (like Monica’s refrigerator on Friends, only better.)

Big Chill’s only has one microwave model, the Retro, which is still made in their Boulder factory, and sells for around $600. It’s a 1,200-watt microwave with 1.6 cubic feet of space.

The retro microwave’s outer finish features a mix of stainless steel and another color, so it fits into today’s modern kitchens, as well as vintage-style kitchens. It comes with these little silver feet that give it a space-age look (although you can get it without the feet, if you’re planning to put it above your range).

The coolest thing about this Big Chill microwaveis that it comes in your choice of eight standard colors, like turquoise and buttercup yellow (standard colors are for the price already mentioned), or one of 200 custom colors (for an upcharge).

If you’re looking to spice up your kitchen with a colorful microwave, you’ve got to check this one out. It does everything a regular microwave does, it just looks cooler doing it.

2. Dacor’s Microwave In-A-Drawer

Dacor

Dacor is a kitchen appliance manufacturer that hails from Costa Mesa, California. They’re well-known for their “Microwave In-A-Drawer”product, which comes in three models that sell for around $1,400.

You can install these drawer microwaves under a counter or above a wall oven. We can’t help but love this concept; in the era of open concept, it just screams “modern kitchen”.

In terms of practical uses, the microwave-in-a-drawer is ADA compliant when installed under a counter, meaning it is accessible for persons with disabilities, in particular those in wheelchairs who can’t reach items on standard-height counters.

The unit features child safety locks, so you won’t have to worry about your little ones (or your pets) getting into it if you install it under the counter.

You obviously can’t just buy one of these Dacor models to replace your current microwave; a little re-modeling will need to be done if you don’t already have the right size space with electrical components built in. If you’re due for a kitchen remodel, though, you should definitely consider a Dacor microwave.

3. Wolf’s Drop-Down Door Microwave Oven

Via: http://www.subzerothailand.com/

Wolf (part of Sub-Zero/Wolf) has locations in Madison, Wisconsin; Phoenix, Arizona; and Richmond, Kentucky.Wolf has been around for over 80 years and has a background in supplying quality commercial kitchen equipment.

They make three types of microwaves: standard swinging door, drawer, and drop-down door. The drop-down door microwaves look like a wall oven, and can be installed in a wall or under the counter, which makes for a great space saver.

A standout feature of the newest Wolf microwaves is the warming feature, which keeps foods at your desired ready-to-serve temperaturefor up to 90 minutes.

Wolf microwaves aren’t cheap; the drop-down door models start at around $1,700. At that price, you’ll get a quality, commercial-grade microwave with features that you won’t find on a less expensive consumer-grade machine.

4.Viking’s Undercounter Drawer Micro Oven

Viking RVM320SS Countertop Microwave Oven

Via: http://www.vikingrange.com/

Viking makes most of its products in Greenwood, Mississippi. The company has spent the last few years reinventing itself and the quality of its products (and has won a number of awards as a result).

Like Wolf and Dacor, Viking makes a drawer microwave that installs under the counter or in a wall. The control panel on their Undercounter DrawerMicro Oven looks just like the control panels on most wall ovens you’ll find in stores today, which is a nice change from your standard microwave design.

For $1,579, you get a sleek stainless steel drawer microwave with touch controls to open and close the drawer, child safety locks, a “warm” mode (up to 30 minutes), and a pretty impressive product warranty.

5.Amana’s Commercial Microwave Ovens

Amana’s Commercial Microwave Ovens

Via: http://www.amana.com

You might know the Amana brand for its consumer appliances, like refrigerators, ranges, and dishwashers, all of which are widely available at big retail stores throughout the United States.

What you might not know is that Amana makes a bunch of high-powered microwaves for commercial use. And most Amana commercial microwaves are made in Cedar Rapids, Idaho.

What makes these commercial microwaves so cool is that they look really basic on the outside, but have tons of high-powered programs that make cooking just about anything really easy. Check out this video to see how a huge bin of rice comes out perfectly cooked in just ten minutes (skip ahead to minute 1:00).

<iframe></center></div>

Amana also makes a model with a door that slides up , instead of out and to the side. This design is great for small restaurant kitchens, and keeps coworkers from the dangers of a swinging door!

While it’s true that most of us have no need for a commercial unit like these, we thought that these cool designs and features deserved a mention in our list of super-cool microwaves.

Not Your Mama’s Microwave Oven

It’s nice to see that these high-tech appliance makers have continued to make microwaves in the USA, even though labor is cheaper abroad. A recent stat says that US output has doubled over the span of the last 30 years, so maybe the tables are turning.

Although they are pricy, we think these microwaves offer some impressive alternatives to the standard countertop units that you find at the big department stores.

What do you think? Do you agree that these are some pretty cool microwaves?Would you consider buying one for your home? Leave a comment or point us to other cool microwaves that are made in the USA.

Why You Need A Knife Set

best-knife-set-under-$100

Via http://kikis-list.com/

Any person who does some cooking in the kitchen and who often eat foods that need to be sliced or cut such as vegetables, fruits and thick slabs of meat will need a reliable knife at home. Slicing, dicing, mincing and cutting won’t be possible without reliable knives.

Some people can probably get away with just a knife or two but having a knife set that comes complete with all types of knife can ensure that you have something to use for every cutting or slicing work you need to do. It’s hard to slice a bread when you are using a regular knife, for instance. There is a knife for every slicing need.

Types Of Knives

Before we get into the best knife sets you can find under $100, you should first get familiarized with the different kinds of knives you will find on the market today.

Micro Serrated

best-knife-set-under-$100

Via https://www.quitokeeto.com

As the name suggests, micro-serrated blades feature small serration. You will be able to find micro-serrated blades on cheap knife sets. In my opinion, this type of blade is terrible for cutting steaks or pieces of meat. Its micro serration can tear meat and make it look as if it was pulled. What’s more is that they can easily get dulled and are impossible to sharpen.

Serrated

best-knife-set-under-$100

Via https://www.crateandbarrel.com

Serrated blades make great knife sets because they cut faster and more efficiently than any other knife. Though it can be a bit more difficult to sharpen once dulled down, serrated knife sets actually take a long time before getting dull since its cutting edges do not reach the plates dulling surface. But if a beautiful cut is what you are looking for, getting a serrated steak knife may not be the best choice for you since it tends to tear and rip meat.

Plain

best-knife-set-under-$100

Via http://spartan-shop.com/

Plainblade knife sets can help you cut through meat like butter. It does have a downside though. Its plain blade tends to give out a squeak whenever it comes into contact with the plate’s surface. It also doesn’t remain sharp for too long, unless it’s frequently used on wooden or plastic plates.

Tips in Buying a Knife Set

With the plethora of options, you have out there, you might feel overwhelmed and unsure what to get. But don’t worry. Use these tips to guide you in the right buying direction:

1. Take your cooking preferences into account.

Do you do a lot of cooking at home? If so, you might need one with more knives or one that is a complete set instead of just a couple of knives. Look for a set that includes a steak knife, paring knife, chopping knife and serrated knife so you have everything you need for cooking. If you only cook once a day, a basic knife set with only 4 or 5 knives included in the set will probably suffice.

2. Check the materials used.

What is it made of? This will let you know whether the knives will last for a long time. Choose materials that are known for their rust-resistant properties. Make sure the materials are also thick enough to withstand warping.

Also check the materials used for the handles. If it is made from wood, find out if the wood has been treated as wood requires protection from moisture. Moisture can cause the wood handle to rot.

3. Make sure they are easy to clean, maintain and sharpen.

Pick knives that shouldn’t take a lot of effort to maintain. Knives that retain grease, for instance, can be difficult to use. Also look for those with self-sharpening features. That way, you can enjoy using them and they won’t dull easily over time.

4. Look for those backed by a guarantee.

Not all knife sets are backed by a guarantee. Some have a lifetime guarantee and others even have a money back guarantee. If you encounter problems with your knives such as damages, warping or rusting, you can get your money back or you can get the manufacturing company to replace your purchase.

5. Check the ergonomics.

Best Propane & Gas Smoker Reviews (2019)

1. Masterbuilt 20050116 Portable Gas Smoker

This Masterbuilt model is currently the only portable model we recommend in the gas/propane category. It’s compact, convenient, and a lot sturdier than you’d think for the price. It can maintain consistent temperatures, both at the low and high ends of the smoking spectrum. Buying the best propane smoker means getting one that maintains steady temperature and the Masterbuilt 20050116 Portable Gas Smoker gives you more than that.

It’s far from perfect, though. While something this small is great for hunting trips and folks who only smoke a little meat at a time, most buyers will want to get something a lot bigger. Don’t plan on using this for very large cuts. You have to open the door all the way to check on things, and it’s not as reliable or well-made as our more expensive recommendations.

Masterbuilt 20050116 Portable Gas Smoker

2. Smoke Hollow 38202G 38-Inch 2-Door Propane Gas Smoker

This Smoke Hollow model is a good alternative to the Cuisinart if you’re an ambitious beginner who wants a bit more space and versatility. It’s also perfect for those more experienced chefs who want a budget model that won’t limit you in the slightest (at least, not for the vast majority of us. There are certainly bigger options available, but this is as much space as most of us will ever need!

What’s different about this one? At first glance, it’s quite similar to the Cuisinart. They’re within 2” of each other, and they both have a straightforward, 2-door design. The Smoke Hollow does offer noticeably more room, though. Even 2” makes a difference when you’re trying to maneuver one more rack of meat into your smoker! This one’s more rugged, too, and it comes with a sausage hanger in the box. It’s more versatile and spacious than the Cuisinart, and our suggestion to the casual smoker who wants space and options without spending too much money.

Smoke Hollow

3. Camp Chef Smoker 24" Smoke Vault Extra Large with Stainless Door and Adjustable Shelves (SMV24)

This Camp Chef model is our premium suggestion to those who don’t need all that much space but want something more rugged and refined than the Cuisinart above. It’s actually smaller than the Cuisinart, and is essentially a non-portable alternative to the Masterbuilt we’ve recommended as our cheapest pick.

The Camp Chef’s strongest point is its build quality. After all, it’s a premium model! Everything’s rock-solid, especially the stainless door. We also love how thoughtful the design is. It includes an extra removable bottom tray to catch drippings, in addition to dedicated wood and water trays. The gauges are precise and offer plenty of control. As far as we’re concerned, there’s nothing better in this size bracket.

Camp Chef

4. Weston 48-Inch Outdoor Propane Vertical Smoker

This Weston model is our suggestion to folks who want to be able to smoke a boatload at once, without any real size constraints to speak of. It’s massive and quite expensive, but if you’re really into your smoking and want to do big batches it makes a great deal of sense. This one is available in a few different sizes, but we’re recommending the 48” model and referring to that one specifically here.

What’s so awesome about the Weston? Well, size is obviously its main strong suit. It has space for as much as you could possibly want to smoke in one go. You can get two sausage hangers in here at a time, It’s commercial-grade, too. We know as well as you do that many consumer-grade models are marketed as “commercial,” but this is the real deal! It’s all heavy-duty coated/stainless steel. It starts easily, offers precise temperature control, and should last for years of frequent, intense use.

Weston 48-Inch Outdoor Propane Vertical Smoker

5. Broil King 923617 Smoke Vertical Natural Gas Cabinet Smoker

The Broil King is our favorite gas smoker on the market today. It’s a premium, midsize setup that we think is ideal for the average home smoker who can spend a little more for something that will last a very long time. While it doesn’t have the Weston’s exorbitant allowances for space, it’s built like a tank and has more than enough room for what most users will actually get around to smoking.

Be aware that it runs on natural gas and not propane, though! It’s an oddity for that. All our other picks run on propane, as do the vast majority of gas-type smokers. Like any natural gas model, the Broil King costs more than propane options of similar size and quality. However, in many areas natural gas is significantly cheaper than propane. This one can easily be tweaked to work on propane as well, if that’s your preferred fuel source.

Buying Guide

Why Choose A Gas/Propane Smoker?

There are a number of reasons why you’d want to choose a gas smoker over the electric and charcoal alternatives.

For one thing, these models are a lot cheaper to buy. Depending on costs in your area, they’re also likely to be much cheaper to operate. Whether you choose natural gas or propane, one or the other is almost certainly going to be cheaper than electricity or the cost. When you add up the time, energy, and money you’d spend to go old-school with charcoal, the savings are also considerable.

These setups can also be used anywhere, since all you need is a gas tank to hook up. You don’t need to worry about having an outlet nearby. You can even set up a smoker at a campsite!

Gas smokers, whether they run on propane or natural gas, are more reliable and easier to use than electric or charcoal setups. They’re relatively simple devices with few components that could give you grief, even over the long term. You’ll also appreciate the fact that they heat up much more quickly and give more consistent temperature than charcoal or electric options.

How Do Gas Smokers Work?

These setups usually follow a standard design. Burners are located at the bottom of a large cabinet, connected to a natural gas/propane tank somewhere on the outside of the smoker. When you light your smoker, the burners heat up a pan loaded with wood chips and water. These create the smoke (or steam, really) that’s used to cook and season meat. Above the pan, and occupying the rest of the cabinet are shelves and racks for your meat products. You can either rack them on shelves or hang them from the ceiling of the cabinet. Sausages are usually hung, for example.

Most models follow this basic vertical design. Of course, each varies slightly in layout and overall volume. Yours may have one door or two, be wider or taller, and so forth.

What To Look For In Your New Propane/Gas Smoker

Space

The most important thing to take care of up front is making sure your new propane/gas smoker will have space inside for everything you want to smoke at any given time. You can always rearrange internal storage or modify components like the gauge, but you can’t make more space in a cabinet. That’s why it’s important to be realistic about how much space you need. It can be tempting to try and save money by going compact, but the savings probably won’t be worth it once you consider how much extra time you’ll be spending smoking in this configuration and setting up each batch.

Flexibility

Any good propane/gas smoker will offer the flexibility to change the internal storage configurations to suit a range of meat products and volumes. Your should come with a range of shelves, hooks, and racks that you can choose between to suit each batch of meat.

Durability

Heavy-duty craftsmanship that can stand years of service is an absolute essential from any smoker. These pieces of equipment see high temperatures for long stretches of time, and that’s hard on even the best smokers. Look for rugged metal construction and high-quality components that can stand years of use. You don’t want to sell yourself short by saving a few bucks on a lightly-built model that’ll need to be replaced in a year or two.

Reliability

A smoker isn’t like a blender or other appliances in that it has essentially no moving parts. You’ll have some basic adjustments for temperature and movable storage, but that’s about it. Reliability doesn’t mean quite the same thing as it does in those contexts for that reason. In the case of a propane/gas smoker, reliability means a design that gives you predictable, repeatable results every time, so that you don’t have to do any guesswork or approximations. Look for something rugged that won’t get leakier over time. Don’t go cheap on gauges, since you depend on them to keep consistent temperatures. You want to invest in something that’ll perform the way you expect

User-Friendliness

Lastly, look for a smoker that’ll be pleasant to use and easy to work with. For example, we think cleanability is very important. These things get pretty caked with smoke and grease each time you use them, and you need to clean all that out in order to have a food-safe process. Look for models with removable parts that can be easily scrubbed down or sent through the dishwasher for convenience. 2-door designs are convenient, since you can use the small one to check your wood and water pans without losing all the heat and steam in the upper chamber. Overall, just make sure the setup seems intuitive and practical for you to use.

In fact, some infrared grills are even made to be brought outdoors with their compact designs. Needless to say, having attractive grill marks on your food is just one of the many things that an infrared grill can offer you.

I’m sure you will surely appreciate this machine’s efficiency, ease of use, and practicality.

How Infrared Grills Work

Now, how exactly does an infrared grill work? You may think that this machine runs on complicated methods, but it’s actually quite simple.

The way infrared grills work is that it uses the infrared technology as its primary heat source. Unlike conventional gas grills where the flame is used to directly heat the grates, the infrared grill has infrared elements in between the grates. So, when the infrared element heats up, so does the grates.

Different Types Of Outdoor Grills

Before I tell you about the best infrared grills you will be able to buy in the market today, let us first discuss the different kinds of grills you can choose from in the market today.

There are actually several types of grills that you can find in today’s market. Each of them possesses a set of features that can fit a certain lifestyle or certain cooking needs.

Charcoal Grills

best-infrared-grill

Via https://snapguide.com

Charcoal grills are the hardest to start up. These kinds of grills require you to put a bunch of coal or wood chips in them to start a fire that will cook your food. These are also the most affordable kinds of grills since they don’t really come with all the bells and whistles that a modern grill has.

However, despite being hard to maneuver, this kind of grill has the capability to add smoky and woody flavors to your food. It’s certainly a feature that a lot of culinary experts enjoy.

Gas Grills

best-infrared-grill

Gas grills are the second most affordable type of grill you can find in the market today. As its name suggests, this kind of grill runs on gas. It’s very easy to start up and maneuver. With a simple turn of a dial or push of a starter button, you will be able to have a roaring fire that can cook your food.

Electric Grills

These kinds of grill do not require gas or charcoal. This runs on pure electricity. What I like about electric grills is that they’re pretty quick to start and turn off. They require little effort to cook with, and they’re pretty basic and easy to understand.

Perhaps the only downside to electric grills is that they can be a bit difficult to clean because of their electrical components.

Portable Grills

These types of grills are the best kinds for people who are always travelling or who likes to rest outdoors. Portable grills come in really compact designs that could let you carry them or lug them around even in the harshest conditions.

How To Choose An Infrared Grill

To ensure that you will get the right product that will fit your personal needs and preferences, try to be aware of these following features before you decide which infrared grill you should buy.

Power and Temperature Settings

  • Try to choose a nice grill that can offer you with a standard range of heat settings for cooking all sorts of food from the thickest of steaks to the most sensitive pieces of vegetables.
  • Try to go with a grill that has a large coverage, preferably one that has a sear burner or two. Having multiple burners on your grill will allow you to cook different types of food in different areas of your grill all at once.

Useful Functions

  • A lot of grills today come with different sets of functions including convertible fuel sources for energy consumption, temperature gauges for accurate cooking, extra cabinets and shelves for added storage, and more.
  • You may also want to check out grills with self-cleaning features to lessen your efforts when it comes to maintenance.
  • Simply go with a grill that possesses the set of features you need. Doing so will save you the hassle of returning the whole product to the store or the feeling of putting up with something that you don’t actually like to use.

Manufacturer Support

  • If you have started to look for grills, I’m sure you must have noticed the price tag on those babies. They certainly don’t come cheap. This is why you should try to look for a grill that comes with a useful manufacturer warranty. It’s just much more comforting to know that if a part of the whole grill breaks down, you can always rely on the manufacturer to fix it up for you for free or for a lesser price.
